Nestled along the southern shore of Lake Erie, Cleveland, Ohio is a vibrant city that boasts several gorgeous green spaces, an eclectic culinary scene and hundreds of cultural attractions. In fact, it's so amazing that we don't blame you for wanting to live here! When you do decide to move, it can be hard to decide where to settle down. That's why we rounded up some of the hottest neighborhoods in the Cleveland area right now, all featuring affordable housing, new urban developments and a thriving community! No matter what you're looking for in a home, we promise there's a dream neighborhood for you on this list. Enjoy!

Battery Park

Cleveland Neighborhoods

Battery Park may be one of the most up-and-coming upscale neighborhoods in Cleveland. It's located right along the waterway, but not directly on the beachfront — meaning you can purchase a waterfront home without the beachfront price! That, plus the recent construction of townhomes and loft properties in the community, means it's never been a better time to buy in Battery Park. The redevelopment of the neighborhood has brought with it an urban feel, without sacrificing the old historic details. While there isn't a ton to do in the neighborhood yet, we're pretty sure that within the next couple of years, Battery Park will be one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city. Plus, the area is just minutes from downtown, the Gordon Square Arts District and Edgewater Park, so you don't have to go that far to experience all Cleveland has to offer. Waterloo Arts District

If you're looking for a funky, unique neighborhood to call home — you've found it! Waterloo is located on the east side of Cleveland and is part of the old-school North Collinwood neighborhood. If you walk down the street where the neighborhood gets its name, you'll find an eclectic mix of locally owned bars, art venues, and some of the coolest street art in all of Cleveland! Waterloo was created as a place where artists can live and work, contributing to the health of the community. Wherever you go in this artsy neighborhood, you're pretty much guaranteed to stumble across some beautiful art installation and during the summer, the area hosts The Waterloo Arts Fest, which is one of the most popular annual events in Northeast Ohio. In addition to the thriving art scene, the area offers an unparalleled selection of record stores, fantastic brunch spots, coffee shops and Citizen Pie, which makes arguably the best pizza in Cleveland. Tremont

The popular Tremont neighborhood is known as one of Cleveland's most historically significant neighborhoods, as it was a hotspot for Eastern European immigrants in the late 19th century. Today, however, the area has become home to a large number of young professionals and artists. The streets are dotted with contemporary townhouses along with historic homes, creating an eclectic mix that is hard to pass up. Tremont is also home to the highest concentration of art galleries in Cleveland, causing creative individuals who don't already live in the area to flock here for monthly art walks when local art galleries and businesses keep their doors open late You can't visit the area without stopping by the famous A Christmas Story House, where the classic Christmas movie was filmed, along with the Convergence Continuum Theater where you can get a fabulous dose of culture. Slavic Village

This unique neighborhood is named for the Easter European workers that settled it years ago and has recently become a thriving community for families, young professionals and everyone in between. Cyclists will love Slavic Village since it's home to the Cleveland Velodrome, Ohio's only closed bicycle racing track along with Fleet Avenue, which offers a full bike lane. In addition to its biking culture, this neighborhood also offers plenty of outdoor exploration opportunities like Mill Creek Falls, the tallest waterfall in Cuyahoga County, the Morgana Run Trail, which used to be a decommissioned freight train line, and several beautiful green spaces. While Slavic Village doesn't have a huge bar scene right now, it does offer plenty of other things to do including the Nash on East 80th, which is a local comedy hotspot that has been churning out rising stars for years. Plus, if you're a history buff, you'll love perusing all of the pre-WWI architecture sprinkled throughout the neighborhood! Search for Homes for Sale in Slavic Village

Ohio City

Cleveland Neighborhoods Ohio City is known as "Cleveland's Complete Neighborhood," because it truly has it all! The area is home to the famous West Side Market, the award-winning Great Lakes Brewing Company, plenty of picturesque parks, trendy shops and incredible restaurants. In this thriving neighborhood, you'll find people from all walks of life enjoying all the area has to offer. As an added bonus, Ohio City offers some of the most beautiful architecture and trendy spots all ripe for snapping the perfect Instagram-worthy shot! While you're in the area, make sure to stop by Campbell's Sweet Factory for some sweet and savory popcorn as well as the Glass Bubble Project, where you can witness beautiful homemade glass creations. Edgewater

Edgewater is located on the west side of Cleveland along Lake Erie and has slowly become one of the area's most popular areas to settle down. Because of its proximity to downtown and the abundance of things to do at any time of the day, young professionals and new families have been flocking to the area. It is also one of the most affordable neighborhoods on this list, with a median home price of $150,000! Plus, if you're an outdoors enthusiast, the neighborhood encompasses the 147-acre Edgewater Park, which features over 9,000 feet of shoreline so you can experience the best of both city life and Ohio's natural scenery. West Park

Cleveland Neighborhoods

West Park is located just south of Lakewood and became the last suburb annexed into Cleveland proper in 1923. While it still retains a suburban feel today, you won't find any strip malls or chain restaurants around. Instead, the area's Kramm's Corners District boasts some of the best locally owned restaurants, coffee shops and comic book stores around! With its quiet, leafy streets, parks and playgrounds, West Park is a great place to affordably raise a family inside of the city. Plus, its close proximity to the Metroparks, one of the largest urban park districts in the country, make it an outdoor enthusiast's paradise! If you're visiting the area for the first time, don't miss the area's award-winning farmers' market held every year from May to October or the famous Irish pubs that are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood (including our favorite, P.J. McIntyre's). Search for Homes for Sale in West Park

Larchmere

Larchmere, in our opinion, is one of the most underrated neighborhoods in Cleveland. Because of its bustling neighbor, Shaker Square, people often overlook Larchmere, mistaking it for a quiet, pretty neighborhood with very little to do. But we like to say Larchmere is Cleveland's best-kept secret! The area is home to an assortment of lovely vintage and craft stores, award-winning restaurants and art galleries — all complete with quaint, historic charm. Some of the shops and eateries, like Felice and Batuqui, are located in gorgeous converted Victorian homes. And, the Academy Tavern, a delicious watering hole with a lauded dinner menu, has been going strong for over 80 years. So while the rest of the world hasn't discovered how amazing the area is, you definitely should! Stop by and explore some of the affordable homes currently on the market, the neighborhood staple, Loganberry Books (one of the most famous bookstores in Northeast Ohio) and grab a bite at Big Al's, a diner that offers one of the best breakfasts around.
