Cutler Real Estate asked Jennifer a few questions so you can get to know her better, and here are Jennifer's replies.
1. What is your professional/educational background?
I graduated from Kent State University with dual degrees in Marketing and English. Following my move to Manhattan one week after college, I enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing for over 15 years with several Fortune 100 companies. I loved developing strong working relationships with my clients and creating innovative solutions and products to meet their professional needs. I still count many as friends and clients today, and credit those early years in my sales career with helping me perfect my negotiation strategy and communication style. When my husband and I relocated to Columbus, the transition to Real Estate was a natural fit with my background.
2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?
I love working with clients from all different walks of life. Whether it's first-time home buyers, move-up buyers or sellers growing their families, clients relocating into or out of the Central Ohio area, or clients looking to downsize, I know that I have a unique opportunity to help them make a decision that will directly impact their lives for years to come. I love hearing their stories, meeting their families, learning their preferences, and discovering what will become the perfect home with them. It is by far my favorite part of the job and combines sales, psychology and emotion. There is nothing better than seeing a client's face light up the moment they walk into a house that will become their family's next home and watching them create memories in that home for years to come. Real estate is a truly rewarding career!
3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?
After several years of living in German Village, our family decided it was time for some wide open spaces and we moved about 35 minutes east of downtown Columbus to a town called Granville. We absolutely fell in love with its charming, New England style and scenic, rural farmland but most importantly, the sense of community we have here. You can't walk into town without running into at least one friendly, familiar face! Our children have thrived here, and we truly cherish the small-town feel, family values, and outgoing residents. It is an absolutely wonderful place to raise a family.
4. How do you spend your free time?
I cherish my time spent with my family and friends - especially time spent outdoors in the sunshine. Real Estate rarely has an "off" switch, so I work hard to be present in the moment and focus on just enjoying what is right in front of me - my precious and supportive family. I love cooking, gardening, hunting at barn sales for vintage books and art, reading and yoga. Most weekends you will find me watching my children in sports activities or dance, trying a new bottle of wine or recipe with my husband, and playing with our 90 lb. ball of fur Bernedoodle. We also love time spent with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!
5. If you could only keep 4 possessions what would they be?
My husband Scott, our twins Hudson and Liliana and our Bernedoodle Reggie!
6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?
Loyal
