When you think “beach vacation,” Ohio isn’t usually on the top of the list — but it should be! Lake Erie, which spans Ohio’s entire northern border and stretches all the way to Buffalo, New York, boasts pristine sandy beaches, lush surroundings, nearby vineyards and plenty of unique spots to take it all in. Regardless of the season, a vacation to Lake Erie is always a great idea.

So no matter what type of vacation you’re looking to book, we’ve got something for you on this list. Happy exploring!
827 East Lakeshore Drive, Kelley’s Island
A Water’s Edge Retreat Luxury Inn is one of the most talked about Lake Erie destinations — and for a good reason! This idyllic Victorian house is right on the beach and offers amazing, unobstructed views in all directions. All of the guest rooms are elegantly decorated and feature all of your favorite modern conveniences like private bathrooms and air conditioning. Before you spend the day walking or biking around the island, make sure to stop in for their famous breakfast held in the beautiful formal dining room every morning!
229 Center Street, Huron
Located in the small beach town of Huron, Ohio, Captain Montague’s offers the perfect juxtaposition of Old World charm and modern luxury. The building itself was once the home to Captain C.Z. Montague and his family in the late 1800s and still has many of the original features — including a handcrafted black walnut staircase and the exquisite original wood flooring. Each of the gorgeous rooms has been completely restored and offers cozy spaces to escape to after a long day on the water!
223 West Water Street, Sandusky
Hotel Kilbourne is Sandusky’s first boutique hotel located on the city’s beautiful historic waterfront. The adorable, Instagram-worthy rooms are full of luxurious touches like cozy bedding, appliances and stunning views of either the city or the breathtaking waterfront. We recommend this quaint hotel not only because of its fantastic amenities, but also its central location close to Sandusky’s downtown entertainment scene, the beach and Cedar Point ferries.

29 East Church Streets, Milan
Milan Inn-Tiques is located on Milan’s Village Square close to the Edison Birthplace Museum and several other historic destinations. Downstairs, peruse for gems in their antique store, enjoy the colorful murals in the “Edison Room” and take a break at the Coffee Station. And if you’re looking for a truly unique place to stay in Milan, there is a one unit room for rent upstairs that can sleep up to 10 people! The cozy apartment features, of course, antique decor along with modern amenities like a TV, full kitchen, wireless internet and a laundry space.
