13 Don’t-Miss Fourth of July Events in Cincinnati This Year

It’s almost time to celebrate America’s birthday! Our community takes this holiday very seriously, hosting multiple fireworks shows and tons of fun, family-friendly events leading up to the big day. In fact, in 2018, Wallethub named Cincinnati as one of the best places in the country to celebrate the Fourth of July!

We rounded up some of our favorite happenings in the area this year to help you plan your week. Attend a fireworks show, spend a day at the local amusement park with the family, or indulge at a food truck festival — there are so many ways to celebrate!

Firecracker Festival

Where: Symmes Township Park

When: June 28-29, 3-10 p.m.

Firecracker Festival Cincinnati, OH

This Independence Day festival will end with a bang! Before enjoying the fantastic fireworks display at sunset, enjoy live music, food and vendor booths, family-friendly activities and more. Also, make sure to stop by their second annual car show and food truck rally!

Hyde Park Blast 2019

Where: Hyde Park Square

When: June 29, 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.

The Hyde Park Blast will include a 4-mile run through Hyde Park, bike races, kid races, chariot races and more — all followed by a magnificent block party on the square! This year, they’ll be mixing up the afternoon festivities, introducing their first-ever Beer, Wine and Food Festival. So mark your calendar and get ready to taste more than 60 varieties of beer and wine!

Northside Fourth of July Parade & Carnival

Where: Hoffner Park

When: July 3-4, Wednesday at 3 p.m. & Thursday at 10 a.m.

Fourth of July in Columbus

The Northside Fourth of July Parade & Carnival is one of the biggest, best and most festive parties in the city all year! The parade has been held since 1854 and is a tradition beloved by locals. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Carnival was added as an extension of the celebration in the early ‘80s, and features live music, local beer and food vendors, family-friendly activities, and so much more. Bust out your red, white and blue costumes and come out to celebrate America!

New Richmond Freedom Fest

Where: New Richmond

When: July 3-4, Wednesday at 5 p.m. & Thursday at 12 p.m.

The New Richmond Freedom Fest is the perfect way to start your Independence Day celebration. This two-day event will feature several attractions, including a car show, a DJ with live music, live bands, rides, food, drinks and local vendors. Plus, stick around until the evening on July 4th for one of the most spectacular fireworks displays around!

When: July 3, 6 p.m.

There is no better place to be on Independence Day than Coney Island! Bring the whole family to enjoy the day at Sunlite Pool, listen to live music, participate in family-friendly activities, and give your adrenaline a boost on the theme park rides. When the sun sets, the sky will be illuminated by a spectacular hot air balloon and fireworks show.

Red, White & Kaboom

Where: Harbin Park, Village Green Park, Fairfield Aquatic Center & Marsh Lake

When: July 3, 8 p.m.

Get ready for a breathtaking fireworks display from Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks at the end of a fun-filled day in Fairfield! Head to one of the four official viewing locations — Harbin Park, Village Green Park, Fairfield Aquatic Center and Marsh Lake — and enjoy special events all day! From live music, entertainment, food and games, this special event has it all.

54th Annual Independence Day Fireworks

Where: Ault Park Pavillion

When: July 4, 11 a.m.

Come out and enjoy a full day of family fun at Ault Park’s annual festival! The day is filled with all-American concessions, live music, a children’s parade and more — and it all concludes with a fireworks show after the sun goes down.

Montgomery Independence Day Festival

Where: Downtown Montgomery

When: July 4, 11 a.m.

This local favorite festival kicks off on Independence Day with a patriotic parade in Downtown Montgomery, full of creative floats and excited marchers. Then, head to Montgomery Park for a family-friendly festival featuring live music, summer foods, drinks, carnival games, pony rides and fireworks!

4th of July Celebration

Where: Stricker’s Grove

When: July 4, 3 p.m.

Stricker’s Grove is a family-owned amusement park in Ross, Ohio. While it is usually closed to the public and used for private functions most of the year, their annual 4th of July Celebration is open to anyone and everyone! Enjoy their rides, food and games with your friends and family before capping off the day with a fireworks show.

Red, White & Blue Ash

Where: Summit Park

When: July 4, 4 p.m.

Natalie Brady Music, the Nite Owls and Kansas will perform at this grand Independence Day celebration! Dance along to your favorite hits, enjoy food and drinks from local vendors, and marvel at the biggest fireworks display in the tri-state area.

The CSO Presents: Red, White & Boom

Where: Riverbend Music Center

When: July 4, 8 p.m.

Celebrate America’s birthday with great music, dazzling fireworks and picturesque views of the river as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Patriotic Pops concert. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn during the show and stay after the last note to see the fireworks!

Fireworks at Kings Island

Where: Kings Island

When: July 4, Sunset

After a long, thrilling day at the Kings Island amusement park, you’ll be able to kick back and enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks over the roller coasters. The park will be open until midnight, giving guests the chance to stretch the day even longer. Military members receive free admission on July 1-4.

Light Up Liberty 2019

Where: 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, Hamilton

When: July 7, 6 p.m.

Light Up Liberty is a 4th of July, alcohol-free, community celebration that offers plenty of fun for the whole family. Every year, upwards of 18,000 people attend this special event to experience live music and great food all from members of the community. Don’t miss the Family Fun Zone, where you can ride carnival rides and play games, and the spectacular fireworks presentation at the end of the evening!
